By getting your account balances to under 25% of your total available limit, you will see a big improvement in your credit score.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2.  &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Make sure your account balances are reporting correctly.  &lt;/span&gt;Because credit utilization is such an important part of your credit file, you will want to make sure that your account limits are reporting correctly.  Some companies, like Capital One and American Express will only report what you owe as your credit limit.  This takes your utilization on the account to 100% and can cause a drop in your credit score by 20 points are more.  To get this corrected, you will need to dispute the account with each of the three credit bureaus.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3,  &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Clean Up Credit Reporting Errors - &lt;/span&gt;Without your invovlement, your credit report is a collection of unverified information.  Because these errors can be costly, it is critical to clean up everything you can.  In addition to paying attention to your credit limits, you want to pay attention to the dates accounts were open, payment history and high balances.
